Restaurant Records

65 case files built from what restaurants publish about themselves, with every gap left where it is.

Every restaurant in this index has a file. What goes in it is what the restaurant published about itself: hours, current menus, booking terms, and whatever it states about price, physical access and dietary handling. Each statement carries the date it was retrieved and the date it is due to be read again. Nothing is averaged here, and no score is assembled out of other people’s opinions.

The state on a file tells you how much weight it will hold. Checked recently means the official pages agreed with each other when we read them, on the date printed on the record. Official details conflict means the restaurant’s own pages disagree, and we kept both dated statements instead of quietly taking the friendlier one. Review due means the review date has come and gone and the file is waiting on a fresh look at the source.

Blank fields are doing real work here. Where a record says nothing, the restaurant said nothing, and we left the hole rather than patching it with something plausible. A file with no line about a step-free entrance is telling you that nobody has published one, which makes it the question you carry to the phone before anyone gets dressed.

Coverage is uneven on purpose: a room enters this index when there is first-party evidence to enter it, not to make the map look full, so your town may hold four records or none. Hours and booking policy go stale faster than anything else in a file, and price is not far behind. Confirm those live before you commit, no matter how full the record looks.

What this is for

Deep Dish is built on these files.

These records are the corpus behind Deep Dish, which ranks a room against the night you describe rather than against a star average. The Tools explains what moves between the three apps and what never travels at all. For the standard these files are held to, How We Judge has it.
