Salty & Clever
Terms of Sale
You are buying a file. It is yours. If it is not what you wanted, say so inside the refund window on the Refunds page and I will refund you, and you keep the file.
Plain version: you are buying a file. It is yours. If it is not what you wanted, tell me inside the refund window set out on the Refunds page and I will refund you, and you keep the file. Everything below is the same thing said carefully.
What you are buying
Every product in this shop is a single file — an HTML document that opens in a web browser, or a PDF. There is no account, no subscription, no login, and no server that has to still exist for the thing to work. Nothing you type into one of these files leaves your computer.
The files are for you and the kitchen you cook in. Use them at home, use them in a professional kitchen, print them, write on them, keep them on a laptop and a phone and a shared kitchen computer. What is not allowed is reselling them, publishing them somewhere other people can download them, or passing them off as your own work.
Delivery
The download link appears on the order confirmation page as soon as payment clears, and is emailed to the address you gave at checkout. The link does not expire and there is no limit on how many times you use it. If the email does not arrive, check the spam folder first and then write to me and I will send the file directly.
Refunds
Digital files are usually sold with no refunds at all, on the grounds that you cannot give one back. That is technically true and it is not how this shop works.
If a product is not what you expected, or it does not do the thing you bought it for, write to me inside the refund window set out on the Refunds page and I will refund you in full. You do not have to justify it and you do not have to delete the file — deleting it would not prove anything and asking would just be theater. The refund goes back to the card you paid with, on the timetable that page gives.
The reason the policy can be this simple is that these are inexpensive files sold to people who read the shop page first. If that stops being true I will change the policy, and this page will say so.
If something is wrong with a file
Write to me. If a number in one of these products is wrong, I want to know more than you want to tell me, because every product runs on the same arithmetic as the free calculators, which means the wrong number is in more than one place. Corrections are free and I will send you the corrected file.
Updates
When a product is revised, you get the revision at no cost, sent to the email address on the order. There is no upgrade price and no new edition to buy. If the price in the shop goes up, it does not go up for something you already own.
Prices and tax
Prices are in United States dollars. Sales tax is calculated at checkout where it applies.
Payment runs through WooPayments — cards, and the wallet buttons for Apple Pay, Google Pay and Amazon Pay. This site never sees or stores your card number. Checkout also offers Klarna, Affirm and Cash App Afterpay, which is a longer way of saying you can pay for a spreadsheet in installments if you want to. Those are agreements between you and that company, on their terms and their credit checks, not mine. The refund policy above does not change: if I refund the purchase, the money goes back to them and they settle the balance with you.
What these products are not
They are planning tools. They do the arithmetic that recipes leave out: quantity, timing, temperature, cost, and what fits where. They are not food safety guidance, they are not a substitute for a thermometer, and they do not know what is in your refrigerator. Cooking for other people carries the ordinary risks of cooking for other people, and those stay yours.
Getting hold of me
Write to the desk through the contact page. A real person reads it. Refund requests, corrections, missing files and questions all go to the same place.
